This six week workshop is ideal for brand-new to more-experienced beginners. Each week will focus on a different topic including: linking breath and movement, standing poses, backbending, twists, inversions and a breakdown of sun salutations. Each week will also include details about breathing (pranayama), anatomy and yoga philosophy. You will gain a better understanding of alignment and obtain the knowledge and support to transform your practice.

In this two-hour Forrest Yoga dive deeper into your practice by learning to access strength in your core and safely release tension in your habitual tight spots. This intelligently designed sequence will include a strength building warm-up, hip and shoulder openers, inversions, vinyasa, long held standing poses, and a warm toasty room. If you have a regular vinyasa practice, Forrest is an excellent complement! You will have the opportunity to work on strength building and learn new ways to tailor poses to work best for you personally. If you’ve never experienced a two hour class, not to worry, we will end with a long, slow “unwind.”***Options are given for beginning and advanced students, as well as modifications for injuries and options during pregnancy.

 Are you stuck in an office chair for 8 or more hours a day, and feeling the physical and mental consequences of working life? Improve your desk-bound life by learning simple postures that you can execute without ever leaving your chair. This workshop will teach you how to, within the confines of an office setting, relieve stress and tension throughout the day — and boost your concentration and energy level! This class is appropriate for everyone (workers, writers, students) and all levels (beginner to advance). About the teacher: When Alexis Taines Coe isn’t teaching or practicing yoga, she’s a historian, and spends countless hours at her desk. Alexis’ yoga training has enabled her to combat neck and back pain, headaches, and eye strain, and is excited to share her findings with students!

Feel like you need to do something for the people in Haiti, but don’t know what?

Come to our benefit.

Anna Thomas works in public health and volunteers for Circle of Health International (www.cohintl.org), a registered non-profit that brings health services to women in situations of conflict and natural disaster.  COHI has sent 3 teams of midwives down to Haiti, where they have partnered with a local organization to help women give birth safely.  To continue to bring these efforts to the women and children of Haiti, we are trying to raise more funds.
