Class Descriptions

Basics
These classes move at a slower pace, providing more detailed instruction. Emphasis is on alignment and a deeper understanding of the postures. Students prepare to enter open-level classes.
Slow Flow
These advanced-beginners classes introduce the link between movement and breath.
Open
These fast-paced classes are based around heat-building, flowing poses. Modifications are given so that every pose is accessible to any level of student.
Restorative
Restorative Yoga is a method in which one holds poses for longer lengths of time with the help of props in order to focus on relaxing and strengthening the muscles. This provides a meditative, slow practice allowing time to go deeper not only into the body, but into the restless mind.
Prenatal
Prenatal classes are designed to help expecting moms deepen their experience and enjoyment of pregnancy. This class is strengthening as well as restorative to both body and soul. A balanced spectrum of breathing, warm ups and asanas are included in each class.
Yin Yoga
Using mostly sitting and lying down postures, Yin Yoga is about relaxing and restoring. This class will also have elements of Self-Awakening Yoga, which uses simple exercises and meditations to encourage body awareness.
Power Yoga
Power Yoga is a vigorous, strength-building, flexibility-enhancing form of vinyasa (flow) yoga, with emphasis on the principle of adaptation and linking breath to movement.
Wherever you are on your path, this class has something for you; the class offers modifications and direction for those new to the practice, and more advanced variations for the seasoned yogi. Practice at your own level of ability, fitness level and circumstance.
You don’t need to be physically flexible; all you need is to come, breathe, move, sweat, let go.
All levels welcome- start where you are!
Intermediate/Advanced
This is an intermediate class offering a greater challenge in strength and flexibility as students enjoy investigating, playing, and expanding their practice and unlimited potential. It will continue to refine familiar poses, and begin exploring a variety of advanced asanas. Appropriate for students with some previous yoga experience. Students should be versed with handstand at the wall as well as pushing up into urdhva dhanurasana (backbend). Expect a supportive, dynamic and playful environment.
Forrest Yoga
Created by Ana Forrest over 30 years ago, Forrest Yoga is a practice designed to free up physical and emotional blocks in the body. Classes focus on core work, breath awareness, vinyasa, and special attention to alignment. Expect to cultivate heat in your body, be challenged, and build strength quickly and safely. Pose modifications are given to suit all levels of students.
Kundalini Yoga & Meditation
Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan has been called the “Yoga of Awareness.” It is a 5,000 year old authentic system of yoga exercise and meditation that promotes health, happiness and spiritual awareness. Kundalini is a complete science that combines postures (asanas), movement, sound current (mantra), breath (pranayam) and meditation into powerful sets called kriyas. It is designed to provide you with the experience of your higher consciousness through the raising of your Kundalini. Practicing it allows you to develop intuition, strength, sensitivity, calmness, wisdom, radiance and grace. It balances the glandular system, strengthens the nervous system, and enhances creative potential. Kundalini Yoga is for everyone. There is no need to be flexible or in great physical shape. Happiness is your birthright!
